What’s new?

This build contains numerous enhancements and bug fixes to core functionality, but I don’t believe you’ll notice most of it. This build also incorporates a very early version of motion-based desktop switching, but you’ll need to have AMSTracker tracker and the smack.pl script running before you start VirtueDesktops — just follow the the instructions at http://blog.medallia.com/2006/05/smacbook_pro.html, but launch VirtueDesktops instead of DesktopManager.

Please note that neither I (Tony), or the VirtueDesktops project take any responsibility for damage done to hardware or software due to overzealous mac smackers. This is all at your own risk!

I’ll be incorporating a less troublesome approach once the UniMotion library is released.

Known issues

Anyone using a build of VirtueDesktops prior to 0.52r128 will need to manually update to this build.

What’s changed?

[FIXED] This build shouldn’t ask you to update every time you launch it. I’ll be reviewing my versioning scheme in the next couple of builds so that it’s easier to maintain.

Known issues

Anyone using a build of VirtueDesktops prior to 0.52r128 will need to manually update to this build.

What’s changed?

[NEW] This build enables plug-ins. I have only tested AppleScript plug-ins at this point, and the UI for interacting with plug-ins barely works.

[FIXED] Setting desktop pictures should be less flaky now - the underlying checks are now working again to detect when a desktop is set via system preferences as opposed to the desktop inspector. I’m going to be working on re-doing the desktop pictures inspector UI and backend to use an image overlay (with the same sort of options as the system preferences). This will mean that desktop pictures are drawn as part of the transition, providing a more seamless experience (++eye_candy;).

[FIXED] The number of desktops is now restricted by the maximum number of items that can be added to the pager. This resolves tickets #31 and #33.
