What’s changed?
- r210 was corrupting preferences - this build will correct the corruption and stop VirtueDesktops from using so much CPU and memory.
- Triggers will now work.
- Fixed the crashes that were occurring under languages other than english. This was due to corrupted nibs.
- I’ve removed Smart Crash Reports. I would prefer to leave it in, but people have become quite vocal about the issue and I’m not going to spend time arguing about it anymore.
Known issues
- Some users are reporting that VirtueDesktops is continuously asking for admin permissions. I’m looking into this. In the meantime, please open a terminal window, and perform the following commands (assuming you placed VirtueDesktops in your /Applications folder):
cd /Applications
sudo chgrp procmod VirtueDesktops.app/Contents/MacOS/VirtueDesktops
sudo chmod g+s VirtueDesktops.app/Contents/MacOS/VirtueDesktops
- Auto-updating is still broken. I believe the problem lies with Wordpress, so if anyone is using Sparkle successfully with Wordpress, please drop me a line
- I’ve started documentation and help files for VirtueDesktops, but they are not included in this release
- Please use VirtueTrac to search for any issues you may be having, and to report any new problems.

Thanks for the great work. MacOsX wouldn’t be the same for me without VirtueDesktops!
I just installed VirtueDesktops 0.53r212 via Sparkle… thought you might like to know. I love how VirtueDesktops works, keep up the good work!
I just installed the new version of VirtueDesktops, it’s great but there’s still a little bug, if you have more than 4 desktops, even if it’s listed, you can’t put a trigger for more than 4 desktops
Hi there,
the AutoUpdate seems to have come back. At least it looks to me. Virtue just updated itself.
